About the position

La Trobe University is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex digital infrastructure initiatives across Infrastructure, Cloud, Data Centre and Cyber domains.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology Mobilisation within Information Services, this role is responsible for the end‑to‑end planning, design and implementation of major infrastructure projects that support the University’s strategic objectives. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, meet quality standards, and transition effectively into business‑as‑usual support.

This is a pivotal role within the Technology Mobilisation function, requiring strong leadership, strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as deep technical knowledge across modern infrastructure environments.


Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • In‑depth knowledge of Networking, Cloud, Data Centre, Cyber and Backup technologies
  • Proven experience managing large‑scale infrastructure projects from concept through to delivery
  • Strong project management capability, with certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, resources and performance outcomes
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and providing high‑level strategic advice
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop project teams in complex environments
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience developing and implementing policies, standards and procedures within a large organisation
  • A degree with extensive relevant experience, postgraduate qualifications, or an equivalent combination of training and professional expertise
