About the position

The Onboarding Officer is responsible to assist and support the processing of Recruitment Contracts and Onboarding for incoming and existing La Trobe University staff in particular the payroll processing, support of People and Culture Systems and payroll and onboarding compliance, as well as supporting the engagement program of new staff to the University.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Completion of a Diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience; or completion of a Certificate IV with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience or on the job training.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quality, appropriateness and timeliness of advice in response to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to organise own and other’s activities to meet objectives.
  • Ability to contribute to procedures and systems within the work area.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Relevant generalised administration experience in a similar role with ability to complete quick and accurate data entry activities and the ability to self-check work.
  • Understand Microsoft Office suite including word processing, email creation and management and basic Excel functionality.
