La Trobe University is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to drive the future of our Data & Analytics Engineering capability.
As Senior Manager, Data & Analytics Engineering, you will lead a team responsible for the platforms, standards and engineering practices that underpin trusted analytics and data-informed decision making across the University. You will shape strategic direction, build organisational capability and ensure our enterprise data platform supports current and future business needs.
This is an influential leadership opportunity for someone who combines strong technical credibility with the ability to inspire teams, engage senior stakeholders and deliver strategic outcomes.
About the position
Reporting into senior technology leadership, you will:
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering teams responsible for the University's enterprise data platform and analytics capabilities.
- Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for analytics engineering capabilities and platforms.
- Establish and maintain robust data architecture, governance and engineering standards.
- Lead a high-performing team of technical specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Partner with leaders across the University to understand strategic priorities and deliver impactful data solutions.
- Oversee platform performance, sustainability, security and operational excellence.
- Support the University's analytics, reporting and AI ambitions through modern, scalable data platforms.
- Ensure the enterprise data platform remains secure, reliable, scalable and cost-effective while supporting current and future analytics and AI use cases.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Significant leadership experience within data, analytics or technology environments.
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing technical teams.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale data platform and analytics initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based data ecosystems, analytics engineering practices and governance frameworks.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience working with senior executives.
- The ability to translate strategic objectives into practical and sustainable outcomes.
