Our Opportunity

Our Quality Assurance Technician will oversee the quality system in place and to ensure Sussan quality standards are achieved, and consistent quality of garment construction and standard finishes are in place.

Based in our Cremorne head office, you will have a keen eye for detail, strong planning and organisational skills.

Your previous experience within QA will play an integral role in our wider team and business.

You will have experience working across denim, coats and jackets and your denim and tailoring knowledge and experience will be an addition to our already diversely experienced Quality team.

Additionally, you will have strong patternmaking and garment construction experience having worked across complex alterations.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Fit sessions and sizing – Run fit sessions to the seasonal timetable
  • Support the buying team and Fit Model to achieve the best outcome
  • Be conversant with the garment measuring positions and train Buying Team and Suppliers on how to correctly fit samples
  • Maintain the consistency of sizing, quality and workmanship across suppliers
  • Ensure that all styles are constructed using the most appropriate techniques and accessories to ensure longevity of the garment and its fit for purpose
  • Manage Inspections and Audits – ensuring shipping samples from bulk are representative of the approved PP sample
  • Visit stores monthly or as required to check stock in store for quality and measurement issues
  • Establish good working relationships with multiple stakeholders and teams

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Fashion or Clothing Manufacture (with garment construction, pattern making and textile technology units)
  • Previous experience in pattern making, garment fitting & construction required
  • Understanding in garment grading and sizing
  • Experience and understanding of garment construction and finishing techniques
  • Experience in fabric and yarn quality and performance
  • Experience working with offshore suppliers and factories
  • Confident negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage quality systems and procedures
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build strong and effective relationships
