The role
The Cyber Security Officer supports the Head of Cyber Security to establish and manage the overall cyber security risk position for the Business Unit to provide an overall threat and risk profile. They will drive cyber security consulting engagement into projects and programmes working with the outsourced cyber security supplier and provide general cyber security advice and guidance to the business.
You will
- Serves as a cyber security expert and co-ordinate input from the third party security consulting service helping programme and project teams to implement secure by design approaches, perform risk assessments and threat models to derive control objectives and to comply with enterprise and IT and OT security policies, requirements, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Collate joined up IT and new OT risk position for the Business Unit and provide updates on risks, threats and overall security status to cyber security management and other stakeholders.
- Works closely with enterprise and solution architects and security specialists to assure that adequate security controls are in place throughout critical and high risk systems and platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Delivers and reports on assurance reviews via the outsourced service provider of designs and new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise and its customers, business partners and vendors.
- Provide specialist guidance on cyber security matters.
You have
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, cyber security, information systems or other related field; or equivalent work experience with extensive cybersecurity work experience, with a broad exposure to IT and OT environments.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of cyber risk concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to security controls and assessment and specification of appropriate technology controls on basis of risk/threat.
- Good understanding of risks and threats to UK energy sector, control systems, network, cloud, consumer technologies and customer data.
- Consulting skills or experience in managing an outsourced security risk assessment or project engagement service including how to manage demand, reporting and workload management.
- Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills and team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including leaders, vendors and IT and business personnel.
