Join our team as the Events Services Supervisor at The Star Brisbane in our Events Team.
The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.
This transformational project has brought even more excitement and anticipation to burgeoning Brisbane. It will redefine how people play, shop, and socialise in the river city.
The successful applicant for this role will need to be dynamic, well presented, pro-active to the needs of our guests, and have a real passion for the events industry. In this role you will be responsible for the effective supervision of a large team of food & beverage attendants. You will assist in the training offered alongside our Event Captains whilst you work closely and collaborate with our Floor Manager to enhance guest experience.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Supervise team members and assist the Event Management team to complete all people planning requirements including training for our food & beverage attendants.
- Encourage a positive working relationship between Event Services department and other departments within the company.
- Ensure events are compliant with detailed client briefs supplied by the Sales team.
- Communicate and implement policies and procedures to all team members ensuring operation and quality service standards are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with the Responsible Service of Alcohol programme.
- Report all faults, repairs, and maintenance requirements in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to the business.
- Monitor the personal grooming of all team members, ensuring that a high level of professional appearance is always maintained.
What we will be looking for
- 2+ years supervisory experience in food service, event/conference service desirable.
- A strong passion in events & demonstrated experience running medium-scale events.
- Natural ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of guests and team members.
- Accreditation in Responsible Service of Alcohol.
- Confident in managing daily labour and stock control.
- Sound knowledge of efficient venue financials.
