We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Storeperson to join our team at the Calvary Mater Hospital located in Waratah, Newcastle. Reporting to the Manager – Materials Management, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following areas.
The Position:
- Working in a team to ensure the efficient receipt, storage and distribution of stock across the entire hospital site in line with NSW Health policies, site procedures and legislative requirements
- Accurately picking and packing large orders and delivering across the hospital departments
- Competently using electronic systems in the management of clinical stock e.g. Imprest
- Mail sorting and delivery
- General housekeeping of the Stores area
- Shift timing: 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Monday to Friday only
The Person:
- Previous experience working in a large stores operation ideally within a hospital environment
- Previous experience with bar code systems particularly within a Stores department
- Commitment to and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety requirements, manual handling principles and infection control guidelines within a healthcare environment
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to read and write, understand & carry out written instructions in English
- The ability to works as an effective team member with a commitment to provide a high level of customer service
- Capacity to fulfil manual handling tasks and efficiently walk throughout a large hospital site daily to ensure timelines of service are achieved
- Willing to obtain a National Police Clearance
- Willing to obtain a Serology Screening
