THE POSITION

  • Oversee the operational and strategic management of multiple non-clinical support service departments within the hospital, including Environmental Services, and Patient Support Services
  • Lead and manage departmental heads, including the Environmental Services Manager, Patient Services Manager and Duty Managers.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the seamless delivery of support services across the hospital.
  • Ensure the efficient delivery of cleaning, waste management, patient transport, catering, and other essential non-clinical services.
  • Recruit, mentor, and support departmental managers and team leaders to build a cohesive, high-performing leadership team.
  • Develop and manage budgets for each department, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
  • Act as the primary liaison between support service departments and hospital leadership, ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.
  • Ensure all support services meet regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, including infection control, workplace safety, and environmental standards.

THE PERSON

  • Proven experience in managing multiple non-clinical support services in a healthcare or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of hospital operations and patient-centred care principles.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital support services, including environmental, helpdesk, and patient support operations.
  • Willingness to obtain a National Police Check Clearance and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Wiling to obtain or provide proof of immunity for vaccine preventable diseases.
  • A degree or diploma in healthcare management, business administration or related field is desirable but not essential
