The Position

As the National Operations Manager, you will be responsible to lead the Operations Management & Site Management teams to grow the Eurest Unit Operations business successfully, taking ownership of the mixture of retail venues and events that are the core of our business. Our growth trajectory requires an experienced industry expert who can drive retail capability and has an innate ability to drive innovation across technology, manufacturing and industry sectors. As an experienced operator, your emphasis will be on creating amazing customer experiences in conjunction with running a tight commercial operation. Whilst understanding the nuances of this managerial position is critical to the success of the business; it's brilliant leadership that is well and truly at the epicentre of this role.  The ability to coach teams, deliver amazing service and create an environment in which customers are able to experience the entirety of the Compass Group experience is conducive to success in this position. Local and interstate travel in this role will be required.

Key Duties 

  • Providing leadership to Operations Mangers nationally across the Eurest business.
  • Leading and driving new site mobilisations within the Eurest business.
  • Provide operational and strategic support to the Executive Director of B&I.
  • Lead strategic management by implementing the company goals and initiates.
  • Drive success through National Operations Management team.
  • Building and leveraging effective stakeholder relationships to achieve business objectives.
  • Fostering a high-performance culture through continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Driving national operational efficiency that maximises financial results through conversion of business strategy to operational models.
  • Enabling growth in the Eurest business through identifying and executing opportunities with existing clients and consumers and contributing to broader strategic planning for their business. 
  • Effectively oversee multiple sites/operations to ensure that they're performing to the highest standard including performance within budgets, management of safety outcomes and improved employee capability and engagement.
  • Actively manage and empower team members by providing them with the correct amount of support and development to optimise performance, deliver annual budget and facilitate growth.
  • Achieving client satisfaction and contract retention goals through maintaining and improving existing relationships with key customers.
  • Firmly making your mark on the business; creating an inclusive, imaginative and inspiring environment which both employees and customers alike will benefit from.
  • Championing safety culture & performance.
  • Get the best out of every team member by listening, coaching, supporting and developing them to optimise performance, deliver annual budget and facilitate growth.

  • Local and interstate travel in this role will be required.

The Person

  • Strong and effective leadership skills; the ability to support, motivate, effectively manage and communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential.
  • Highly developed commercial skills with experience managing complex contracts and/or P&Ls.
  • Is uncompromising in the pursuit of high levels of customer satisfaction to deliver a 5 star experience every time.
  • Is detail orientated with a relentless focus on ensuring uncompromising standards and procedures are in place to ensure the basics are right in all areas all of the time. i.e. Great food, great service! 
  • Can inspire and lead others to develop a quality branded operation.
  • Is a positive, supportive, ambitious leader with experience of carrying out personal development plans, staff training sessions and appraisals.
  • Develops effective relationships with individuals at all levels, from diverse backgrounds, cultures and locations.
  • Excellent communication and personal skills well suited to building business relationships with existing and potential clients at a senior executive level.
  • Ability to research key target markets and new opportunities, reporting and decision-making skills with a results-driven focus.
  • Strong and decisive leadership skills with ability to build effective and engaged teams.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills in developing budgets and allocating appropriate resources to ensure a sustainable & profitable business.
  • Experienced in managing multiple stakeholder relationships and project deadlines with competing priorities and limited resources.
  • Direct immersion in task delivery and a willingness to balance strategy with practical implementation.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with senior sector and functional stakeholders.
  • Confident in presenting solutions and continuous improvement initiatives to client representatives.
  • Demonstrable experience in a general management role where you have held accountability for breadth of functions across the organisation (preferably services, hospitality or retail industry).
  • Relevant Degree or qualification (e.g. in business, commerce, administration, management, community development, human resources) or equivalent work experience.
