We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven individual with strong Accounts Receivable knowledge to join our team on a temporary 9-month basis.

The Position

The Officer – Credit (Billing) plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely recognition, reconciliation, and reporting of income across the business. You will be responsible for managing billing processes, preparing accruals, reconciling accounts, and addressing revenue discrepancies, while supporting financial integrity and compliance across Compass Group operations.

This role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders, strict adherence to audit standards, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will also support debtor reporting, invoicing processes, and billing structures, ensuring that the financial outcomes of cost-reimbursable contracts are accurately reflected in the Profit and Loss statement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Supervisor – Billing in delivering against key business objectives and Compass Group’s corporate strategy
  • Utilise multiple finance systems to review and create invoicing requirements
  • Ensure invoicing is accurate, completed on time, and distributed according to business requirements
  • Maintain billing trackers, manual invoicing, credit adjustments, and site-specific billing records
  • Recognise and reconcile all income within prescribed timeframes
  • Follow up and resolve revenue discrepancies promptly
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to maintain account accuracy
  • Prepare monthly accruals and ensure they are invoiced in the next period
  • Process contra adjustments, invoices, and credit note adjustments as required
  • Ensure compliance with audit procedures and internal policies
  • Set up and manage site-specific price books and ad-hoc billing
  • Reconcile the Profit & Loss for cost-reimbursable invoicing
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies
  • Perform other finance-related duties as directed by the manager or business

 

The Person

Essential:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable and P&L accounting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills (internal and external stakeholders)
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to analyse financial data and resolve discrepancies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and intermediate computing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement mindset
  • Commitment to compliance, risk, and quality standards

Desirable:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an AR Billing role (commercial environment preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
  • Oracle or similar ERP system experience (advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience reconciling P&L for cost-reimbursable invoicing
  • Familiarity with large-scale, multi-site, or contract-based billing processes

 

Please note: This role will be based in our Perth office - 12 Newcastle Street, Perth WA 6000.
