ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.
The Position - Chef
• Work collaboratively with a team of Chefs, Kitchen Utilities and Dining Room employees
• Buffet style bulk cooking for Breakfast and Crib Lunch, or Dinner and Desserts
• Ensure OH&S compliance, adhering to safe work practices and food handling procedures
• Ensure all catering controls are in place, and wastage is kept to the minimum
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control and cleanliness in accordance with Compass standards
• Assist Head Chefs in managing team performance and employee development
The Person
• Chef Qualifications - Cert III in Commercial Cookery (min)
• Bulk Catering Experience
• Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations, including experience in menu writing, rostering and cost control’s.
• Experience with hygienic work practices and appropriate HACCP guidelines
• Essential: Must have valid First Aid / CPR

We currently have many sites and locations that are in need of both Full Time and Casual Chefs, working various roster arrangements, fulfilling various shifts, across numerous remote villages within our Queensland Port Folio.
