Perth FIFO Line Chef

ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.

Responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality meals for our residents. Our chefs are expected to carry out all aspects of food production—including preparation, cooking, and presentation—in compliance with Food Safety regulations and in alignment with our Safety Culture behaviours.

THE POSITION

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a high standard, considering dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean, organised kitchen in line with Compass Group’s food safety protocols and HACCP principles.
  • Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all meals.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver efficient service during peak periods.

THE PERSON

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Trade Qualification (essential).
  • Proven experience in high-volume kitchens—ideally in remote sites, upscale venues, or hotels.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring dishes meet recipe and presentation standards.
  • Solid understanding of food safety and bulk catering practices.
