General Manager - Remote Operations (WA)

Lead. Stabilise. Transform.

Compass Group is seeking a seasoned General Manager to lead a complex, multi-site remote operations portfolio (mining) across Western Australia. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening culture, and delivering safe, sustainable performance across a large and diverse workforce.

The Role

This role will provide strategic and operational leadership across remote sites in WA, ensuring consistent service delivery across catering, accommodation, cleaning, retail and support services. You’ll play a critical role in stabilising performance, uplifting leadership capability, and embedding a strong, safety-first culture across all locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-site operations to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality services
  • Drive performance uplift across underperforming or high-risk locations
  • Build trusted client relationships and lead regular performance engagements
  • Champion safety leadership, audit compliance and incident management
  • Develop and coach Area Managers and frontline leaders
  • Strengthen cultural health, engagement and workforce stability
  • Deliver strong commercial outcomes across labour, cost control and retail
  • Oversee workforce planning, scheduling, mobilisation and operational projects

About You

You are an experienced Senior Operations Manager with a track record leading large, complex remote or hospitality-based portfolios, ideally in mining or FIFO site locations. In this role you will be expected to bring:

  • Proven leadership (10 yrs+) across multi-site, high-volume service environments
  • Volume operations (upwards of 2,000 staff) and performance improvement
  • Deep commitment to safety, compliance and risk management
  • Demonstrated success leading geographically dispersed teams and logistics
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing large budgets and cost drivers
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build credible client partnerships
  • Resilience and sound judgement in fast-paced, remote environments

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to remote services such as mining camps, healthcare facilities or defence
  • Experience in cultural uplift, leadership development or change programs
  • Background working with diverse workforces, including FIFO environments
  • Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management, Large Hospitality Sites or WHS

Why Join Us

This is a rare opportunity to lead at scale, shape operational performance, and make a tangible impact across a critical portfolio. You’ll join a values-driven organisation focused on safety, people and continuous improvement.
