ESS Defence provides food service and hospitality support to Defence sites across Australia. We deliver high-quality meals that support the wellbeing of Australian Defence Force personnel.

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team at the Army Aviation Centre, Oakey. This part-time role is ideal for chefs seeking flexible hours while working in a professional and structured kitchen environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare high-quality meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner services
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
• Support kitchen operations including stock control and deliveries
• Ensure food quality, presentation and portion control standards are met
• Assist with menu execution and daily food production
• Work collaboratively as part of a kitchen team to deliver exceptional service

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Experience in commercial kitchens or bulk catering environments
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety and allergen management
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Reliable with a positive and team-focused approach
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance
