Catering Supervisor | Mater Hospital, Newcastle

THE POSITION

• Supervise daily catering operations, including food production, meal service delivery, workflow coordination, and compliance with food safety standards.
• Lead, train and support catering team members, assisting with rostering, performance management and ongoing development.
• Ensure patients receive a high standard of service by responding to requests, managing special dietary requirements, and liaising with nursing staff and dietitians when required.
• Assist with food preparation, stock control, cost management, waste minimization via Leanpath and FOGO, and maintaining a safe and hygienic healthcare environment.

THE PERSON

• Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service supervisory role.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, infection control, and food handling practices within a healthcare or hospitality environment.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a National Police Clearance and relevant healthcare clearances, with a flexible and reliable approach to work.
