At Compass Group Australia, we deliver essential support services to remote communities, offshore operations, and major resource projects throughout Australia. As part of our ESS Remote business, we are seeking an experienced Senior Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead strategic engagement initiatives across the Northern Territory.

This newly created leadership role offers the opportunity to strengthen community relationships, drive Indigenous participation, influence regional workforce outcomes, and support business growth through meaningful partnerships

The Position

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead community integration, stakeholder engagement, government relations, and regional workforce initiatives across the Northern Territory.

Working closely with operational leaders, clients, government agencies, Indigenous organisations, and community partners, you will identify opportunities that support social impact outcomes while contributing to sustainable business growth. Regular travel throughout regional and remote NT communities will be required.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Traditional Owners, Land Councils, Indigenous organisations and community leaders.
  • Lead Indigenous employment and community engagement initiatives that support local workforce participation.
  • Partner with Recruitment, People & Culture and Operations teams to build sustainable workforce pathways.
  • Represent ESS Remote within government forums, industry networks and regional stakeholder groups.
  • Identify funding opportunities, grants and strategic partnerships that support workforce development.
  • Support operational leaders with cultural guidance, stakeholder management and community engagement strategies.
  • Contribute to tenders, business cases and mobilisation plans for new and existing contracts.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics relating to Indigenous participation, workforce outcomes and social impact initiatives.

The Person

You are a passionate engagement professional with a proven ability to build trusted relationships across complex stakeholder environments.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, government affairs or a similar strategic role.
  • Demonstrated experience working alongside Indigenous communities and organisations.
  • Strong understanding of Northern Territory workforce challenges, regional communities and government structures.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments across public, private and community sectors.
  • Strategic thinking, project leadership and problem-solving capability.
  • Experience within remote operations, resources, defence support services, infrastructure or related industries will be highly regarded
