What you’ll be doing: 

Ready to develop your sales career with a brand people know and love? Virgin Australia is looking for a motivated and ambitious Business Development Representative to join our Sydney team and help grow our Business Flyer program, supporting small and medium sized businesses with smart, flexible travel solutions.

You’ll take on a dynamic role focused on relationship building through in person meetings and phone interactions, managing a portfolio of over 150 potential business clients. Your priorities will be showcasing our program’s benefits, helping businesses maximise the value of every trip and fostering strong client connections. Along the way, you’ll attend industry events, sharpen your sales skills and expand your professional network - all within a supportive, high-performing team.

This is a 12-month max-term role - a great opportunity to grow your experience in a commercial environment with one of Australia’s most recognisable and trusted brands. 

In addition you will: 

  • Identify and proactively engage new leads and existing clients to promote the Business Flyer program, close sales and drive program growth
  • Hit your daily call targets (KPI’s) and build strong, lasting customer relationships 
  • Work closely with your team to meet service level goals (SLA’s) and support revenue objectives 
  • Handle phone and email communication with confidence and professionalism 
  • Stay up to date with Virgin Australia’s latest products, offers and program updates 

You’ll be great in this role if you have:

  • Experience in a sales role, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets
  • A knack for identifying new opportunities, following up leads, and converting interest into action
  • Confidence on the phone combined with a friendly, engaging communication style
  • Strong people skills – you’re great at building rapport and maintaining relationships
  • Skills in upselling and cross-selling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction while achieving sales targets
  • Comfort using technology to support your workflow, with exposure to Salesforce or similar systems desirable
  • A positive attitude, hunger to learn, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone
