About the role

The Senior Pricing Strategy Analyst plays a critical role in the development and implementation of the national pricing strategy across our retail business. This position is responsible for building and enhancing pricing models, analysing market trends and competitor activity, and developing high-level pricing strategies based on insights gained from detailed data analysis and market research. This role will combine detailed work and deep analytical expertise with big picture thinking and problem solving to deliver actionable insights that shape business strategy.

What you’ll do

• Build, refine and optimize pricing models based on market trends and by working closely with internal teams to ensure models aligns with business goals
• Conduct detailed analysis on market changes related to costs, competitors, legislation and policy, and synthesize into actionable insights to drive strategic pricing decisions
• Translate complex pricing data into easily understandable formats and presentations for senior stakeholders
• Provide high level analytical support and advice to ensure alignment of pricing strategies across the business
• Maintain and continuously improve pricing tools, documentation, and pricing-related processes

Your experience

• Degree qualification in Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or another numeric discipline coupled with a strong understanding of accounting, finance, and legal principles
• Demonstrated experience handling large data sets in Excel (or equivalent) with strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
• Strong skills in pricing strategy development, financial modelling, and data analysis
• Proven ability to distil complex information into clear, visually appealing presentations (experience with PowerPoint, data visualization tools is a plus)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a simple, compelling way to senior leadership.
