About the role

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Perth. In this role you’ll go beyond data analysis – your work will be pivotal in understanding financial performance and recommending strategies to enhance profitability across our energy portfolios. You’ll assess energy contracts, analyse portfolio outcomes, and identify risks and opportunities to drive business performance. This role combines deep financial insight with commercial strategy to guide decision-making in a fast-paced and evolving energy environment.

What you'll do

• Develop and present strategically aligned budgets and forecasts to support informed financial planning
• Analyse portfolio performance, delivering insights that influence trading, contracting, and investment strategies
• Lead financial with a focus on actionable insights, risk identification, and opportunity optimisation
• Conduct financial assessments of energy projects and agreements to guide commercial and strategic decisions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to challenge assumptions and drive performance through data-backed recommendations

Your experience

• Proven experience in commercial or financial analysis with a focus on strategy, ideally within the energy sector
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to move beyond the numbers to influence commercial decision-making
• Demonstrated ability to interpret portfolio outcomes and provide recommendations that improve financial performance
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and software, and financial modelling and forecasting tools
• A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to ask the right questions and drive improvements in outcomes.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Economics, or a related field, with a strong background in financial analysis and commercial strategy
