About the role

We’re looking for a commercially minded finance business partner to join our Retail Finance team as a Manager, Partnering – Operational & Capital Expenditure. Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Partnering, you’ll oversee ongoing operational expenditure (Opex) and capital (Capex) investment. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to provide strategic financial insights, lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, and ensure robust business case development for capital funding. This is a high-impact role that blends financial acumen with strong business partnering to drive cost efficiency and investment discipline.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with the Retail Leadership Team to deliver timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting and strategic analysis.
  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of Opex, Capex and FTE budgets across all Retail functions.
  • Drive monthly performance reporting for Retail Cost to Serve, identifying key trends, risks and opportunities to support decision-making.
  • Support capital investment planning by coordinating robust business case modelling and aligning with IT Finance on Retail IT projects.
  • Mentor and develop a team of two analysts while fostering a culture of collaboration, critical thinking and continuous improvement.

Your experience

  • CA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in a finance business partnering or finance manager role, in addition to extensive analyst experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen and communication skills with the ability to understand key business drivers in a complex and evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated experience building trusted relationships and communicating effectively with stakeholders across both finance and non-finance teams.
  • Ability to identify strategic opportunities and process improvements through critical thinking, curiosity and a proactive mindset.
