Reporting directly to the Quarry Manager, you’ll be responsible for the daily management of our quarry operations, ensuring safety, production targets, and continuous improvement.
Your day will involve:
- Drive our ZERO HARM goal by championing safety and best practices in every activity.
- Collaborating with the Quarry Manager to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Inspire and manage site activities and guide your team of Plant Operators to success.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and implement best practices effectively with employees and contractors on site.
- Carry out inspections and report outcomes to ensure all fixed and mobile plant maintenance is top-notch.
- Oversee stock levels with precision to maintain efficiency.
- Initiate and facilitate LEAN practices to enhance productivity and workflow.
What are we looking for?
- Thrive on motivating and organizing production teams, with a strong background in quarry or mining operations.
- Demonstrated experience in hard rock quarry operations, including crushing, screening, and load & haul processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent planning skills, able to drive results while juggling competing deadlines.
- Utilise your initiative and management skills to identify and tackle issues as they arise.
- Display leadership and mentoring capabilities, fostering a culture of health, safety, and quality (HSE & Quality).
- Experience in the operation of fixed plant equipment in a quarry/mining environment is advantageous
- Understanding of fixed plant and equipment maintenance practices
