About the area
Education has been a keystone of the University of Western Australia for 100 years. Today, the Graduate School of Education (GSE) maintains a tradition of excellence while directly addressing the challenges of developing educational practices for both global and local needs. We have an established and dedicated team of teaching and research academics providing undergraduate and post-graduate courses in initial teacher education, education studies, higher education, and mental health and wellbeing. We also offer higher degree by research courses and research training.
About the opportunity
The School is looking for Expressions of Interest from qualified educators to join the School as casual academics in our initial teacher education courses. You will work with academic staff to support student learning, and roles may include teaching, facilitating workshops, assessment of the students and contributions to curriculum development. This is an opportunity to get hands-on teaching experience in our initial teacher education courses and support UWA’s mission to provide high-quality education.
About you
- Formal tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline; preferably a doctorate.
- Previous academic and/or professional experience in initial teacher education or working with pre-service teachers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Your application will be retained on our academic casual register for 12 months. Should an opportunity arise matching your skills and experience, you will be contacted by the relevant work area.
