About the area
The School of Earth and Oceans at The University of Western Australia undertakes diverse fundamental and applied research with recognised strengths in mineral geoscience, energy geoscience, geochemistry, hydrogeology, marine geoscience, oceanography and ocean engineering.
About the opportunity
- Play a key role in advancing the AuScope Geochemistry platform ‘EarthBank’ at UWA.
- Contributing to new and existing analytical datasets and data models, improving the accessibility of nationally significant Earth and environmental science collections, boosting the capacity and capabilities of geoscience laboratories at UWA,
- Analytical method development and refinement as required. You would work with academic staff, researchers and visitors as well as contributing to training of PhD students.
About you
- PhD qualification in Geoscience.
- Demonstrated expertise in trace element geochemistry, geochronology and/or radiogenic isotope geochemistry, and in the application of these in the geosciences.
- A high level of technical competency in microanalysis, especially with ion microprobe and laser ablation ICPMS platforms, with a track record of innovation in these techniques.
- A demonstrated ability to work productively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate project findings in timely fashion through high impact publications, presentations or workshops.
