    About the role

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the financial health and stability of our organisation. Your responsibilities will encompass financial analysis and reporting and ensuring strict adherence to Australian Accounting Standards and regulations.

  • Senior Accountant responsibilities:

    • Support the effective project management and timely delivery of month-end processes, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed within the designated timeframe.
    • Manage Fixed Assets reporting and analysis, including supporting models. Contribute to the annual valuation cycle by preparing accurate reports, posting final entries, and providing detailed asset movement analysis.
    •  Responsible for the accounting and reporting for ‘Projects in Progress,’ offering expert advice on accounting treatments and collaborating with the Group Treasurer to ensure accurate project forecasting.
    • Manage leases and Right-of-Use assets accounting and cashflows in compliance with AASB 16.
    • Take full ownership of labour accounting and reporting responsibilities, including processing fortnightly payroll journals, calculating leave liabilities, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, and providing monthly budget variance analysis with commentary.
    • Drive the digitization and improvement of accounting processes, including redesigning key technical workpapers and schedules, while maintaining adherence to industry standards and best practices.
    • Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment and achieve organizational financial goals effectively.

     

  • About you
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA) preferred.
    • Extensive experience in a similar role, demonstrating expertise in accounting.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and regulations.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
