About the role
Are you passionate about empowering people and improving lives? Join our dedicated team as a Carer Services Officer, where you will play a vital role in supporting carers who look after loved ones with disability, mental illness, chronic conditions, or age‑related needs.
This is a meaningful position where every conversation contributes to the wellbeing, resilience and confidence of carers in our community.
This is a full-time fixed term position located in the Mulgrave office.
About you
In this phone‑based, person‑centred role, you will work directly with carers to assess needs, set goals, provide information, and coordinate short‑term yet impactful supports. You will help carers feel heard, informed, and empowered to navigate their caring responsibilities while maintaining their own wellbeing.
Your strong communication skills and ability to build rapport will ensure carers receive the right support at the right time.
Key requirements
- Ability to undertake phone assessments and goal setting using a person-centred approach
- Ability to provide advice to carers promoting choice and control
- Determine carers needs, promote carer wellbeing and independence
- Provide advice in relation to carers in relation to available supports and programs
- Excellent communication skills ability to build relationships with carers
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- NDIS Screening Clearance, WWC required
