Level B / Level C $114,917 to $161,145 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

The Adelaide Dental School provides an innovative and collaborative research and teaching environment, located primarily in the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences building on North Terrace.

This role is critical to the delivery of the Human Biology and Biodental sciences curriculum for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery Program (BDS) and Bachelor of Oral Health Program (BOH). The broad topic areas include Histology, Physiology, Immunology, Virology and Anatomy (General and Head and Neck).

The successful candidate will work closely with the Program Directors for BDS Year 1 to 3 and BOH and the Year coordinators in BDS 1, 2 and 3 and BOH 1 and 2 to enable the delivery of a high-quality Human Biology and Biodental sciences curriculum.

The candidate will join a dynamic teaching team and be responsible for co-coordination, design and delivery of cohesive curriculum content (i.e.. lectures, workshops/practicals, online resources), assessment design and delivery, marking, coordination of guest lecturers and supporting learners within Years 1 to 3 of the BDS Program and Years 1 to 2 of the BOH Program.

The successful candidate may be appointed at Level B or Level C, depending on experience.

To be successful you will need at level C:

• Completion of a PhD or have equivalent qualifications/experience in the relevant fields: Histology, Physiology, Immunology and Virology and/or Anatomy (General and Head and Neck).
• Demonstrated skills and experience in teaching undergraduate (health professional/science) students in 2 or more of the following areas: Histology, Physiology, Immunology, Virology and Anatomy (General and Head and Neck).
• Demonstrated skills and experience in the coordination, preparation and delivery of high-quality course and subject design, and in the delivery of high-quality student-centred learning and teaching at an undergraduate level. This will include the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning, as well as marking and assessment activities, and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to lead and build effective relationships and partnerships within an academic setting; within health professions, interprofessional settings and community organisations.
• Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of our School community.

To be successful you will need at level B:

• Demonstrated skills and experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, demonstrations and workshops; as well as marking and assessment activities; and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
• Experience in the coordination and development of innovative teaching methods, curriculum delivery and assessment
• High level interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional activity.
• Completion of a relevant doctoral qualification or master’s qualification or equivalent qualification
• Demonstrated high level organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage workload within a busy environment and to meet deadlines and work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of our School community.
