About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager, Finance will lead the Finance Group through significant transformation. You will be accountable for enterprise wide financial operations, strategy, governance, and systems, creating impact beyond compliance, enabling sustainable decision making and driving future focused change. You will lead a large and capable team, including senior leaders across financial reporting, operations, accounting, and taxation, while guiding a major financial systems transformation to review core legacy platforms and streamline high-volume processes.

Key accountabilities include:

• Provide advice and insights to the Board, Executive Leadership Team, and business leaders to support organisational performance,resilience, and compliance.
• Guide a major finance systems overhaul, integrating platforms and ensuring seamless data and reporting across systems.
• Overseeing financial operations in a high volume environment with areas of risk, controls, compliance and taxation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing finance team aligned to WorkCover’s values and purpose.

  
About you
You are a senior finance executive with a track record of leading complex financial operations in large, high accountability, high volume environments. Known for your commercial acumen and strategic thinking, you bring depth across financial operations, system integrations and reconciliations, governance and reporting, but it is your proven ability to lead in an environment of transformation that sets you apart.

This role will appeal to finance professionals who are energised by modernisation. You have led the upgrade or replacement of core finance systems, delivered integration projects, and shaped the future state of finance functions through technology, data and performance uplift. You see finance not just as a control function, but as a key lever for enterprise-wide decision making.

You will also possess:

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or Accounting (CA/CPA preferred)
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of financial services
• Strategic leadership capability and experience working closely with executive and Board stakeholders
• A collaborative mindset and inclusive leadership style aligned with our culture and values
• High-level judgement, integrity, and a commitment to delivering sustainable public value
