Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some evenings & weekends required.


Job Summary: The School Student Recruitment Coordinator organizes and coordinates the recruitment operations for the school. Seeks out potential candidates by representing the school at high schools, community colleges, and professional association gatherings. Coordinates and/or delivers the school's presentations at campus recruitment events. Develops and executes initiatives focused on enhancing student recruitment rates.


Additional Department Summary: Plays a key role within the admissions and recruitment team in the School of Social Work. The team manages the student recruitment and admissions process from point-of-inquiry through enrollment for the school's undergraduate and graduate programs. Demands a high level of collaboration, coordination, and organization. Develops and conducts information sessions, both on and off campus. Responds to telephone and electronic requests for information. Plans and delivers presentations to potential students (within and outside of the state). Serves as a point of contact for University department chairs and high school guidance counselors in Alabama and neighboring states.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work with various people. Problem solving skills. Familiarity with current research regarding student admissions, recruitment, and enrollment management. Ability to use Microsoft applications and other student information systems at a practitioner level. Ability to utilize new recruitment/admissions technologies to increase efficiency and reach. Ability to serve as an articulate spokesperson for the mission and values of the School of Social Work. Strong project management skills. Ability to think, reason, and make sound judgments on how responsibilities are completed in compliance with school and university standards. A high degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment. Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills, including proficiency with related systems and databases.


Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in social work and two (2) years post master's experience. Experience in student services and recruitment in higher education or experience in administration. Expertise in using electronic software to plan and schedule events and activities; to organize and interpret information, and to provide instruction.
