Job Summary: The Manager of IT Desktop Operations oversees and coordinates the daily operations of the desktop technicians and desktop administrators. Oversees OIT desktop management and patching activities. Sets strategy for Endpoint Management. Implements and manages personnel, policies, and procedures. Handles performance monitoring, goal setting, and development planning for the employees. Ensures the desktop support team provides excellent customer service to the University community. Develops solutions and supports strategies for OIT.
Additional Department Summary: Manages and coordinates the daily operations of the desktop technicians and desktop administrators. Oversees OIT desktop management and patching activities and sets strategy for Endpoint Management. Ensures the desktop support team provides excellent customer service to the UA community.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and two (2) years of IT technical support experience; OR bachelor's degree and four (4) years of IT technical support experience; OR associates and six (6) years of IT technical support experience; OR High school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of IT technical support experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Strong knowledge of desktop processes and solutions.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications: Apple, Dell, and MS training/certifications.
