Pay Grade/Pay Range:  Minimum: $56,600 - Midpoint: $73,600 (Salaried E9)

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; occasional nights and weekends as needed.

Job Summary: The First Year Student Transitions Program Manager plans, develops, executes, and assesses several student-oriented programs including Freshman Forum, Out 2 Lunch, FYE Friday, Camp 1831, Compass Talks, and additional programs for specific student populations. Supports a broad commitment to first-year student success with a focus on serving students through large-scale programs and targeted retention initiatives including communication efforts for case management of student participants. Develops partnerships with campus departments and community organizations to provide resources to students and enhance student success program offerings for both the academic and social transition of first-year students. Manages provided program budgets and provides supervision for graduate and undergraduate employees.


Additional Department Summary: Completes required training on University policies and procedures, laws, and regulations that create a more hospitable and respectful workplace and safe environment. Completes financial reporting and follows and enforces internal processes and controls as outlined in University policies and procedures.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of student services or student programing experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of student services or student programing experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Program development and assessment skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks/programs. Ability to form strong relationships with both students and other professional staff members. Commitment to expand knowledge, awareness, and skills as evidenced through demonstrating self-awareness, understanding, and valuing others.


Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or Counseling. Experience with program development. Experience with first-year experience programs or experience working with underserved students in higher education. Experience as a supervisor.
