Job Summary: The IT Infrastructure Technician IV serves as a technical leader and mentor. Guides best practices in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber, network, and VoIP systems to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to University standards. Assists other team members in their support duties. Teaches new techniques. Researches and develops new technical skills. Provides expert-level knowledge of plant wiring to support infrastructure development and troubleshooting. Serves as the infrastructure project lead for initiatives of moderate- to high-complexity. Provides Fiber Plant documentation and design support, including maintaining and updating campus Fiber Plant CAD drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance. Reviews construction administration drawing to support the Project Management Office (PMO) and verifies fiber entry points into campus buildings, ensuring that infrastructure planning is both forward-thinking and technically sound.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of network and telephone technical experience; OR associates and four (4) years of network and telephone technical experience; OR bachelor's degree and two (2) years of network and telephone technical experience; OR master's degree and some network and telephone technical experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Working knowledge of electrical wiring. Ability to read building plans and cable routes.
