Pay Grade/Pay Range: 

Development Associate Director: Minimum: $74,200 - Midpoint: $100,200 (Salaried E12)

Development Director: Minimum: $83,500 - Midpoint: $112,700 (Salaried E13)

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The University of Alabama is receiving applications for a position in Advancement. Consideration is being given for both the Associate Director and Director of Development positions.


Additional Department Summary: This position supports the Vice President for Student life by securing major gifts that align with the Division of Student Life’s strategic priorities. Provides philanthropic expertise when requesting assistance from the VP for Student Life, Student Life executive level leaders and Student Life departmental leaders to ensure specific stewardship, cultivation and solicitation needs are fulfilled as required. Reports to the Office of Development and the Division of Student Life.


Required Minimum Qualifications: 

Development Associate Director: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and some development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience. Frequent travel required.

Development Director: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience. Frequent travel required.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions. Extensive travel required.


Skills and Knowledge: Good public relations and verbal and written communications. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to use personal computer for word processing and standard software packages.
