Job Summary: The Event Assistant/Conference Coordinator supports the Building Manager and Desk Assistant to ensure that events are being set up and ready to meet each client’s expectations for their scheduled event. This includes setting up tables and chairs, placing the tablecloths on the tables if requested/rented or any other combination of services the Greek Assembly Hall offers and provides for their clients. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of Greek Assembly Hall policies, procedures, and operations of the facility.
  • Knowledge of the job expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and with a group to ensure the job completion.
  • Conference Coordinator must always be available for when needed.
  • Know the different room orientations and equipment available.
  • Read the daily events sheet/calendar and be able to set up the expected room in a timely manner.
  • All students who do not clock in or out must be approved by direct supervisor (Building Manager) or have their shift covered ahead of time.
  • If the shift is not covered ahead of time, being present at work is expected.
  • Downtime must be used to maintain cleanliness and uphold standards. 
  • Store lost and found items properly in the office after Desk Assistant has it listed on the excel sheet.
  • Knowledge of basic emergency procedures and the ability to response and communicate information.
  • Know the mission of the Greek Assembly Hall and strive to perform this mission to the best ability while at work.
  • Perform other related duties upon assignment.

Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
