Advert- National Consultant (Maldivian) to Scale Up the Climate Guardians initiative.
Background:
In line with the UNICEF Maldives Country Programme Document for 2022 – 2026, the Country Office is working towards strengthening our climate smart and resilient action programme in line with the global Sustainability and Climate Change Action Plan (SCAP), as well as regional and country priorities with a specific focus on the implementation of the Climate Guardians initiative.
UNICEF Maldives needs to scale up its climate portfolio due to the growing challenges posed by climate change, especially for island communities that are highly vulnerable to rising sea levels and extreme weather events. With the increasing urgency to integrate climate resilience into health, education, and protection initiatives, additional capacity is needed to develop and implement strategies that address both immediate and long-term risks. Further, it is imperative that the Country Office increase direct and indirect engagement with children and young people across the country through our engagements.
In this regard, UNICEF Maldives is seeking to hire a local consultant to support scaling up of our climate program.
How can you make a difference?
Increase and scale up engagement of Climate Guardians’ cohorts in prioritized islands.
