Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine on 24 February 2022, 6.4 million refugees have been displaced, with 1.6 million settling in Poland. Refugee women and children represent the majority of this population. As of February 2025, there are over 360,000 Ukrainian refugee children in Poland, nearly half of whom are enrolled in Polish schools. To respond to this crisis, UNICEF established a Refugee Response Office in Poland and partnered with national and municipal authorities, as well as local NGOs, to provide critical support to affected communities. Through this consultancy, UNICEF will support the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring additional support services under the “Accessible School for All” (ASA) project — a key UNICEF priority for 2026. The consultant will work closely with the Educational Research Institute (IBE) to ensure effective implementation and alignment with project objectives. Additionally, UNICEF is partnering with the Centre for Education Development (ORE) on a national antibullying programme. The consultant will provide technical leadership and coordinate knowledge-sharing events to scale this initiative nationwide under MoNE/ORE leadership in 2026. The consultant will also serve as a liaison between IBE, ORE, MoNE, and UNICEF to ensure smooth collaboration and delivery of results.

To ensure timely and high-quality research support, the Unit regularly engages specialists with expertise in quantitative and mixed-methods research to contribute to research design, implementation, and data analysis and to provide expert technical services related to quantitative and mixed-methods research activities. Individual consultants on the Long-Term Agreement (LTA) may be called upon to provide services in one or several of the following four areas: (1) Research conceptualisation and design; (2) Implementation and oversight of data collection activities; (3) Data cleaning, analysis and write-up; (4) Dissemination and engagement.

UNICEF is seeking a Senior Consultant on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) Innovation to advance the organisation’s climate resilience agenda under the new Strategic Plan (2026–2029). The consultant will lead a global effort to identify, document, and scale globally tested DRR/CCA innovations— including early warning and anticipatory approaches—across UNICEF sectors. Working closely with the Climate Resilience Centre of Excellence and the Office of Innovation, the consultant will develop global guidance, practical tools, case studies, and training materials, while providing tailored technical assistance to priority countries.
