Applicants who have completed a Ph.D. by August 1, 2027, in biomechanics, human anatomy, kinesiology (with emphasis on movement analysis), or closely related fields will be considered, while candidates with post-doctoral experience are preferred.   • Assistant Professor of Political Science in Malibu Campus

    The Social Science Division of Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at Pepperdine University invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Political Theory to begin August 1, 2027. The successful candidate will initially teach five courses per academic year, including survey classes in ancient and modern political thought, American political thought, and Christian political thought. The selected candidate will also be expected to publish peer-reviewed research in political theory broadly construed and to advise political science majors and serve on faculty committees. Completion of the PhD by the start date is strongly preferred, but ABD candidates who demonstrate exceptional promise may be considered.

    The Social Science Division of Seaver College at Pepperdine University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sociology beginning August 1, 2027. We seek an outstanding teacher-scholar whose research and teaching will strengthen our undergraduate sociology program. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: criminology, social inequality, sociology of the family, and gender, although applicants from all areas of sociology will receive full consideration.     The Religion and Philosophy Division of Pepperdine University’s Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, located in Malibu, California, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Christian Thought. This position is a full-time, one-year appointment beginning January 1, 2027, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding. A successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a 4/4 load of undergraduate courses. The ideal candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in philosophy or theology by December 1, 2026, and all candidates need to provide evidence of (a) effective teaching in a variety of courses related to Christian thought, (b) an active research agenda, and (c) a commitment to the Christian mission of the University and the mission of Seaver College. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to the intellectual life of the Division and to engage in service to the Division, College, and University as appropriate for a Visiting position.
