The Program Manager exists primarily to provide administrative, programmatic, and clerical support to the Director and Associate Director of Student Convocation in delivering the Chapel program at Pepperdine University. This includes planning and organizing the Core Chapels, overseeing the Connection Chapels, coordinating efforts with RISE and other campus partners, and providing spiritual leadership for the first and second year students.

This person serves as a Christian role model and is an active member of a local church.

Duties

  • Provides administrative and clerical support for the Director and Associate Director of Convocation; manages the operation of PeopleSoft budget system; organizes Google docs, fulfills paperwork, attends meetings, and assists with delivering all Chapel events. Provides administrative oversight of credit management and reporting. 
  • Provides logistical and planning support for all Chapel programs. This includes arranging set-up at Firestone Fieldhouse for Core Chapels, coordinating A/V needs, reserving Connection Chapel locations using 25 Live, and helping to organize check-in and thank you events. 
  • Assists the Associate Director of Chapel in managing social media accounts and campaigns to raise awareness of the Chapel program. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least two years of office management experience; at least one year of professional customer service experience; proven ability to create systems and organize forms for multiple events; ability to balance professional customer service and pressing analytical duties in a high traffic environment.
  • Personal faith in Jesus Christ; active involvement in a local church and demonstrated support for the Christian mission of the University; ability to integrate Christian faith with student development theories and practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; superior organizational skills and attention to detail; proper phone and email etiquette; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines; problem-solving skills and ability to manage conflict
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.; familiarity with Google products including Gmail, Docs, Forms, Calendar, etc.; knowledge of basic office equipment including scanner, copier, phone systems, computer, etc.; strong typing and formal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Office management and administration experience; basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (InDesign) or willingness to take a class to learn to edit documents.
  • Experience planning and executing events.
  • Office experience in a Christian university setting.
  • Supervisor experience with college-age students
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft or similar database systems.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 11-month per year, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $26.25 - $29.17 per hour 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
