Job Summary/Basic Function:
Teachers College, Columbia University, is searching for a Programmer/Analyst to join a small team of talented programmers to support the college's enterprise applications, data, and data integrations. The successful candidate will have experience with PL/SQL development as well as other programming languages and integration tools. Experience with Ellucian's Banner ERP and associated higher-ed applications is especially valuable. In addition to being technically adept, the successful candidate will be a self-starter, passionate about technology and software, communicative, collaborative, and be able to analyze business processes to understand where technology may or may not provide solutions.

Responsibilities
- Work with business users as well as our Project Management Office to analyze and document user requirements, information needs, work-flows, and procedures.
- Design, implement and maintain enhancements to enterprise applications, integrations, and reporting systems central to the operations of the college.
- Ensure that solutions are maintainable, reusable, reliable, and architecturally sound and secure.
- Test, review, and thoroughly verify newly developed code and systems before deployment.
- Support and provide quality customer service to key data users in their use of enterprise applications.
- Automate and enhance campus business processes by analyzing current practices and designing end-to-end systems to perform necessary tasks efficiently using the best available technologies and practices.
- Maintain currency of knowledge and skills related to programming, database systems, development tools, networking, and related technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with computer applications as a programmer or programmer/analyst
- Programming experience with relational database management systems and SQL
- Familiarity with Linux operating system and environment.
- Ability to define project goals and work independently to complete projects while adhering to the established schedule.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work with changing priorities and with multiple projects
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work weekend and off-hour work on occasion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Programming experience with ERP systems (preferably Banner) and Oracle database tools and utilities.
- PL/SQL, Java, Python, and/or Groovy/Grails
- API use and development (REST/JSON)
- Web design and development (including Javascript and CSS)
- CI/CD tools and test driven development
- Automation and integration platforms
- Banner HR, Finance, and/or Student modules
Salary Range:
$75,000-100,000

Hybrid/Remote
Teachers College maintains a hybrid work environment, which provides employees with flexible work arrangements, while ensuring we preserve the important aspects of our unique in-person college-campus culture. Depending on role and business needs, colleagues will either work onsite or in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and virtual days). Employees are expected to live within a 150-mile radius of the College.
