Job Summary/Basic Function: 
The College Events Team is seeking a Convocation Assistant who will be supporting the College Events team with year-end celebration logistics and customer service.

This position begins Monday, March 4, 2024 through Friday, May 24, 2024. Hours are typically 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. with some exceptions where later evenings are required. As we approach the event date, there will be more instances of working late hours and some weekend shifts. Specifically, there will be extended hours from May 12 to May 16.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management of assigned portions of 2024 Convocation events.
  • Assist with the coordination of other events as requested.
  • Manage critical aspects of 2024 Teachers College Convocation events under the supervision of the College Events department.
  • Answer all emails and phone calls directed to the department and in-person inquiries from grads and their guests.
  • Staff the weekly in-person Convocation information desk on campus
  • Assist in preparing the inventory of all supplies. Pack supplies and assist with the distribution of supplies at the United Palace Theater.
  • Assist with grad lists for ticketing, communication, and outreach
  • Provide logistical support for load in, ceremonies, and load out of the United Palace Theater
  • Run errands and other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have Excel & customer service skills.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past customer service experience
  • Excellent administrative skills including Google Drive, Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides.

Salary Range:

$27 per hour
