Innovation Lab Assistant in Portland, OR
Interested in innovation, technology, and hands-on learning? Join the Sports Product Management Innovation Lab and help create an engaging, collaborative environment where students bring products to life. In this role, you'll support lab operations, assist with equipment and demonstrations, help prepare for lab classes and events, and play a key part in fostering creativity, experimentation, and skill development. Knowledge and demonstrated experience using, maintaining/repairing, and demonstrating a variety of types of apparel, footwear, and soft goods equipment, including industrial sewing machines, strobel machine, no-sew, laser cutter, 3D printer, bladder press, embroidery, DTF, digital software, mold making, and more. You will ensure our lab is running efficiently and smoothly to provide an immersive, sustainability-minded physical lab to prepare students for careers in product creation and innovation in the sports and outdoor industry. This role will work closely with the Innovation Lab Manager, Apparel Instructor, Footwear Instructor, Patternmaker, student class aides, as well as SPM faculty and staff to support student apparel and footwear team projects through hands-on making.
