      Assistant Director, Baseball in Eugene, OR

      Reporting to the Head Baseball Coach, this position has managerial responsibility and accountability for the administration and coordination of one or more of the baseball department’s programs. It is also responsible for a variety of student-athlete related functions. In doing so, the incumbent exercises independent, professional judgment beyond proscribed routine policies and procedures to carry out the athletic department and baseball program’s mission statement to recruit and retain student-athletes for the University of Oregon. The independent decisions made by the incumbent commit this program to a specific course of action, carry fiduciary responsibility and accountability for managing at least one unit program, including recruiting, external relations, student-athlete development and/or operations. This position is part of a management team that determines the success of both the baseball program on-field success and the student-athlete’s success as an individual. The person hired into this position will be responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.

      Terrestrial Animal Care Services (TeACS) is responsible for managing and administering a centralized program of laboratory animal care. The functions of TeACS include daily animal care, veterinary care, research and surgical support, and training of research and technical personnel who use live animals for research or teaching. TeACS is an academic service unit (for research and teaching) that reports to the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI), which promotes excellence in research at the University of Oregon.

      The Custodian performs a wide variety of routine custodial and labor tasks in any of the following athletic facilities: Autzen Stadium complex, Jane Sanders Field, PK Park, and PAPE Field. Responsibilities include maintaining floors, cleaning offices, cleaning the exterior of buildings, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning overhead pipes and lights, and washing windows and doors. The schedule is flexible and changes based on the needs of operational activities and events. This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics programs, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, Big Ten Conference and the NCAA. The person in this position will clean a variety of spaces with a variety of equipment. This position may require the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift significant amounts of weight with and without assistance.
