About the role

Join our dynamic People & Culture team dedicated to empowering our employees and fostering a positive work environment. As a vital member of our team, the P&C Assistant will play a pivotal role in providing HR administration and project support to our national team. This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, ensuring that each day brings new challenges and opportunities. By actively participating in various aspects of the employee lifecycle, you will gain invaluable experience and pave the way for a rewarding career path. 

Due to internal growth, we have a full-time 12-month fixed-term opportunity with the flexibility of working between our Melbourne CBD office and your home, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee lifecycle administration, including onboarding, departures, flexible work arrangements, staff movements, study support, and more.
  • Provide administrative support for pay and leave, firm-wide communications, and health & wellbeing initiatives.
  • Conduct employee background checks, such as police checks, Vevo visa and working rights verification, reference checks, qualification audits, and practising certificates.
  • Perform reporting and data entry using our systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with audit requirements.
  • Ensure effective document management practices are in place, maintaining confidentiality and adherence to relevant protocols.
  • Support P&C events and processes, such as flu vaccinations, FebFast, STEPtember, Office Professionals' Day, Easter chocolates, and others.

Additionally, you should have:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships, demonstrating a customer-service focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Upholding strict confidentiality standards.
  • A keen interest or prior exposure to HR practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience using HRIS and Learning Management Systems will be highly regarded but not essential.
