About the role

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our Medical Negligence Team on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in our Sydney CBD office, this role will suit candidates looking to make their mark within the Firm whilst helping everyday Australians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer all incoming client enquiries and assist or transfer calls where appropriate
  • Provide accurate updates and information to clients within a timely manner and manage expectations
  • Manage the administration of all client files from open to close
  • Produce client correspondence and prepare court documents as requested
  • Arrange and manage diaries, appointments and meetings
  • Action all incoming mail
  • Prepare bills for clients
  • Any other generalist administrative tasks as requested

The skills and experience we are looking for

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant/Secretary. An interest in Medical Negligence law and experience in this area is highly desirable
  • Experience working within a Personal Injuries practice group is preferable but not essential
  • A certificate in Legal Studies is desired but not essential
  • Relevant systems experience (Elite 3E and iManage)
  • An understanding of court processes and systems
  • Ability to show compassion and empathy for vulnerable clients
  • Through your well written skills you deliver high quality documentation and communicate well over email
  • Ability to build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships
  • Ability to manage competing demands effectively and take pride in delivering high quality work
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion
