The Opportunity

As the Onslow Iron Operations continue to ramp our designated state of the art  2.5 Acre Truck Maintenance Maintenance Facility (only 12 months old!) have an immediate require for Heavy Vehicle Mechanics looking to take their career to the next level to join our site teams.These will be full-time position son a 2/1 roster with rotating day and night shifts, offering Fly In, Fly Out from Perth WA or Brisbane QLD.  

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor you will be undertaking general service, designated maintenance & breakdown works to a brand new & recently refurbished fleet of  Kenworth C5509 and T909 Road trains.

Our Road trains have Drum breaks (no ABS)  Eaton Ultra Shift Gearboxes (no clutch or pedal, all electric!), A mix of Cummins ISX or QSK engines with trailers a mix quad or triples with sitting capability. 

What is required?

• Australian or New Zealand recognised trade qualification
• A strong commitment to safety and quality of work
• Demonstrated diagnostic, fault finding, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills
• The ability to perform physically demanding tasks
• Unlimited Australian Work Rights
• Applicants holding an Air Conditioning Licence will be held in high regard

About Onslow Iron

Our Onslow Iron project is set to redefine mining in Western Australia through world-first autonomous road trains, industry leading dust free transport and innovative tran-shipping.

Taking shape 150 kilometres east of Onslow, the project will ship around 35 million tonnes of iron ore per year and is expected to have a mine life of more than 30 years.

The project will encompass the Ken’s Bore mine (approximately 150km from Onslow), Onslow Port infrastructure and Onslow Truck Maintenance Facility.
