The Opportunity

Our Weipa operation is currently seeking experienced Safety Advisors on an 8x6 roster FIFO from Brisbane or Cairns. You will be responsible in providing efficient and effective safety support services to our Mining team.

Reporting to the Safety Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in fostering a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environment and safety culture among our employees and contractors.

• Provide advice and assistance to ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements, Codes of Practice, processes and Procedures
• Identifying risk and non-compliance issues
• Implementing OHS critical risk management programs
• Coach and mentor frontline leaders and management in workplace inspections
• System auditing to verify compliance against our safety standards & legislative requirements
• Perform investigations on incidents and assisting Operations to implement adequate corrective actions
• Interpret safety data, incident investigation and injury management cases

What is required?

• Minimum Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
• Extensive experience in a similar role within the Mining and Resources industry
• Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, mentoring and developing diverse teams
• Strong understanding of Safety Management and a positive approach to the implementation and execution of pragmatic management systems
• TapRooT / ICAM experience is desirable 
• TAE Certification is highly advantageous
