The opportunity
We are looking for a highly experienced Data Engineer to make a significant impact to implement a new data platform for our ERP system, making use of the latest Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI. We are looking for a skilled individual who can create and enhance data pipelines, develop adaptable data models, and maintain high standards of data accuracy and consistency.
This is a 18-month fixed term position, based on a Monday to Friday roster at our state-of-the-art head office in Osborne Park.
Your primary responsibilities
- Populate and manage the Data Lake, developing dynamic data models for reporting using data from sources like Microsoft Dynamics 365, Coupa, SAP SuccessFactors, and other systems.
- Create reusable and scalable ingestion and data curation code, ensuring data flows smoothly from source systems to the data platform.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes, transforming raw data into meaningful insights.
- Implement and manage data governance policies to ensure security and compliance with organizational standards.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate technical documentation for data processes and data models.
- Work closely with development teams, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Monitor and optimize data pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable data processing.
What is required
Our ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong experience in data engineering utilising Microsoft Fabric and Databricks to develop/maintain data pipelines. Previous experience working with ERP/Finance systems is desirable.
- Proven experience with building and managing data lakes and developing ETL processes.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Good knowledge of Power BI for data modelling and reporting.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Scala, or other scripting languages used for data processing. Experience with Microsoft Fabric will be highly desirable.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Proven track record of developing maintainable, scalable, and secure data solutions.
