Position Title: Junior Project Manager

Reports To: Head of Technology Solutions
Location: Macquarie Park, Sydney
Employment Type: 12 month fixed term contract


Position Overview

We are seeking an influential Junior Project Manager who communicates and builds strong relationships across the Technology Solutions team, the broader business, vendor-partners and clients.

This role will be accountable for the entire project scope, project team, resources, the success or failure of the project and the transition into business as usual operations.

You will need to be capable of covering both functional and technical areas within the delivery life cycle to anticipate and deliver technology solutions in a matrix organizational structure and work with global colleagues to achieve this.

You will work closely with cross functional stakeholders, including EGM’s, IT stakeholders, global IT SME’s, PMO, Procurement, Finance and ISS Global teams as well as external parties such as system vendors and ISS customers.


Key Responsibilities

The Junior Project Manager will be accountable for the entire project scope, project team, resources, the success or failure of the project and the transition into business as usual operations which will include:

  • Manage end-to-end life cycle of projects – including the transition into business as usual operations.
  • Consult with project stakeholders to ensure clarity and transparency on project scope.
  • Act as the primary contact between all stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining project budgets.
  • Identify and manage risks, escalating to the IT Senior Leadership and/or PMO as required.
  • Partnering with vendors to build effective working relationships and ensuring mutually-beneficial project outcomes
  • Coordinate project meetings and workshops
  • Provide project and risk governance

Key Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years project experience using project management principles and methodologies in a broad range of large scale IT projects
  • Proven experience in end-to-end delivery of IT and business projects – including IT integration, migration, transformation, cloud, application and security projects.
  • Experience in maintaining project documentation including project registers, issues, risks and milestone delivery dates.
  • Experience in developing and maintenance of a project budget.
  • Experience in managing multiple concurrent complex projects with diverse stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Proficient with relevant software development tools and processes such as Jira, SDLC and continuous improvement.
  • Tertiary qualification in a business or IT related discipline
  • A strong commercial appreciation for applications and their role in business solution delivery
  • A “can-do” attitude and inquisitive nature
  • Systems strategic capability
  • High level time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize
  • Capable of working with internal and external technology specialists and business partners – identifying and facilitating resolution of issues to ensure “fit-for-purpose” outcomes.

 

In addition to the above, ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience with Asset Management or Field Service Management technology implementation.
  • Experience as an Iteration Manager or Scrum Master is a bonus
  • Industrial services/outsourcing industry experience
  • SDLC management, directly or through vendors
  • Experience in BI delivery
  • Pre-sale or consulting solution engineering experience
  • Microsoft desktop suite and Microsoft project
  • Project Management certification (e.g. PMI, Prince2 etc)
  • Agile certification (e.g. Scrum or Safe)
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black belt.
