We are currently seeking a Senior Food Service Supervisor to join our team at The Northern Hospital (Epping). In this key leadership role, you’ll ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality meals while maintaining a clean, efficient, and patient-focused food service operation.
🛠️ About the Role
Reporting to the Key Account Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of food services, supervising AM and PM teams while ensuring excellence in patient meal delivery and compliance with all food safety and healthcare standards.
You will play a crucial role in supporting patient care by delivering meals aligned with dietary requirements while fostering a strong, collaborative team environment.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals for patients, staff, and functions
- Maintain tray accuracy in line with dietary requirements
- Drive high levels of patient and staff satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, infection control, and food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas
- Supervise, roster, and support catering staff for efficient service delivery
- Promote a positive team culture and effective communication
- Manage stock levels, ordering, stocktakes, and minimise food waste
- Collaborate with dietitians, nursing staff, and key stakeholders
- Resolve meal-related issues and patient concerns promptly
- Lead training, induction, and competency development of staff
- Identify and implement service improvements and efficiencies

✅ About You
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and WH&S principles
- Food safety training (or willingness to obtain)
- Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access)
Desirable:
- Experience in healthcare or institutional food service
- Knowledge of special dietary requirements
- Familiarity with menu management systems (e.g., Chefmax, Delegate)
