We are seeking an experienced Cleaning & Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our cleaning services team at Irwin Barracks in Karrakatta, Perth WA. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about service excellence, team leadership and maintaining high standards in a unique Defence environment.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Living and Work Services Manager, you will oversee the delivery of cleaning and housekeeping services across accommodation, shared facilities and operational areas, ensuring all services are delivered safely, efficiently and to contractual standards.

You will play a key role in supporting and developing your team while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and support cleaning and housekeeping teams across the site
  • Ensure scheduled, responsive and clinical cleaning services are delivered to required standards
  • Coordinate daily operations and staffing requirements
  • Manage periodic cleaning activities including carpet cleaning, pressure washing, strip and seal programs
  • Conduct inspections and quality audits to maintain high cleaning standards
  • Respond promptly to customer requests, enquiries and service issues
  • Ensure cleaning equipment, consumables and supplies are maintained and available
  • Support workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with ISS and Defence procedures
  • Assist with training, coaching and onboarding of team members
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting requirements

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a cleaning supervisory role
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Current National Police Check
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Experience coordinating teams across multiple facilities or work areas
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance

Desirable

  • Previous Defence, government or secure-site experience
  • Certificate II in Cleaning (or higher)
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Senior First Aid qualification
  • Experience with UKG Pro workforce management systems
  • Experience with specialised cleaning equipment and processes
