About the role:
Our team is growing, and we are currently seeking motivated individuals to join us in the position of Chef at Flinders Medical Centre (Bedford) on a Casual basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook bulk meals for hospital patients
- Ensure meals meet dietary and nutritional requirements
- Maintain food quality and presentation standards
- Order food supplies and monitor stock levels
- Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements
- Support efficient kitchen operations during leave coverage

About you:
-
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent trade qualification)
- Experience preparing and cooking bulk meals in a commercial, healthcare, aged care, education, hospitality, or institutional kitchen
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture-modified meals
- Understanding of food safety legislation and HACCP principles
- Experience ordering stock and managing inventory
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Current or eligible Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to undergo a functional pre-employment medical
- Police Clearance, or ability to obtain, is essential
- DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC), or ability to obtain, is essential
- Evidence of immunisation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Pertussis, Diphtheria, Hep B, Polio or willingness to obtain, as per SA Health Worker policy is essential
